Summary: Supports U.S. government exchange alumni in Cameroon and Central Africa to implement innovative projects advancing bilateral priorities, youth skills, transparency, and regional collaboration.
This funding opportunity, managed by the U.S. Embassy Yaoundé Public Diplomacy Section, supports alumni of U.S. government-funded or sponsored exchange programs to lead projects that advance key bilateral and regional priorities in Cameroon and Central Africa. The focus for 2026 is on celebrating the United States' 250th anniversary (Freedom250) by promoting American values of freedom, democracy, and innovation. Eligible projects should strengthen alumni networks, foster leadership, and address issues such as youth unemployment, transparency in critical sectors (especially mining and critical minerals), local tensions, and regional collaboration. Projects may leverage digital technology, AI, entrepreneurship, or sports diplomacy, and must incorporate robust digital outreach and sustainability plans.
The program supports up to two national alumni-led projects in Cameroon and one Central Africa Regional Alumni Summit, which will bring together alumni from Cameroon and neighboring countries to promote commercial diplomacy, peace, and innovation. All initiatives should align with U.S. policy goals and inspire long-lasting partnerships.
