Florida Humanities’ America250 Book Collection Grants support Florida public libraries in enhancing their collections to mark the 250th anniversary of the nation’s founding in 2026. Funding covers titles from approved booklists curated by the Orange County Library System in partnership with Florida Humanities, encouraging readers to reflect on America’s 250-year journey and consider the country’s next chapter.
The program supports paperback, hardcover, electronic, and audiobook purchases. Florida Humanities prefers purchased titles to enter libraries’ circulating collections, while allowing limited public giveaways through dedicated America250 programming. Libraries are encouraged to connect the books with anniversary celebrations through engaging displays, book clubs, and author talks throughout 2026. Recipients also receive reading and promotional resources to help share their activities.
