--- ## Description The AMS China Exchange Program provides travel grants to facilitate collaborative research visits between mathematicians in the U.S. or Canada and their colleagues in China. The program aims to promote international academic collaboration, foster new partnerships, and strengthen mathematical research ties between these regions. Grants support both U.S./Canadian mathematicians visiting China and Chinese mathematicians (typically early-career) visiting institutions in the U.S. or Canada. Awarded funds are intended to cover travel and subsistence expenses associated with research visits. --- ## Due Dates - March 31, 2026: Full application deadline (applications accepted through MathPrograms.org until 11:59 p.m. ET) Awards are typically announced in late May 2026. --- ## Funding Amount - Total annual funding: $10,000 - Typical individual award: $2,500–$5,000 per recipient (2–3 awards per cycle) - For U.S./Canadian institutions: $1,000 of the total award is set aside for the Chinese home institution of the visitor (in lieu of honorarium) - For Chinese institutions: $250 is set aside for an outstanding undergraduate student; up to $1,000 may be used for publications Funds may be used for travel and subsistence costs related to research visits. No overhead or indirect costs are covered. Conference attendance is not the primary purpose, though trips may be combined with conferences.
