Key Information: Applicants requesting ≥$500,000/year in direct costs must contact NIH staff at least 6 weeks before applying.
This opportunity supports the establishment and maintenance of Animal and Biological Material Resource Centers. These Centers are expected to provide special colonies of laboratory animals and other resources (such as reagents, cell/tissue/organoid cultures, genetic stocks, and informatics tools) that benefit the biomedical research community on local, regional, and national levels. The primary goal is to enhance scientific rigor, transparency, and reproducibility by making high-quality, well-characterized research resources widely available. Centers must have broad relevance across multiple NIH Institutes or Centers and align with the mission of the Office of Research Infrastructure Programs (ORIP). Support is provided for both the continuation of existing resources and the development of new ones.
