The Arts and Science Council (ASC), in partnership with Mecklenburg County and the City of Charlotte, is inviting qualifications from professional public artists or artist teams for a major public art commission at the new Animal Care & Control Adoption Center in Charlotte, NC. This project aims to create impactful, site-specific artwork—such as a suspended sculpture, wall relief, mural, or a combination—at a prominent location within the facility, reflecting the center’s mission of compassion, community, and animal welfare. The selected artist will collaborate with city and project stakeholders to ensure the artwork is meaningful, durable, and integrated with the building’s architecture and community context.
