--- ## Description This grant supports interdisciplinary research addressing the sources, mechanisms, and impacts of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and antibiotic biosynthesis in soils, with a focus on the One-Health approach. Projects should investigate the dynamics of AMR development and antibiotic biosynthesis across different land uses, analyze soil’s role in the transfer of resistance genes and exposure risks for humans and animals, and expand knowledge and databases of antibiotic-related genes and alternatives from soil microorganisms. The program also seeks to develop evidence-based guidelines for policymakers and land managers to mitigate AMR risks, facilitate the discovery of new pharmaceutical molecules, and raise public awareness about the importance of soil biodiversity.
