Description
This opportunity supports the establishment of applied drug policy research experiences for graduate students and recent post-graduates. The program aims to foster rigorous research studies and data analyses that inform and support the National Drug Control Strategy. Selected institutions will recruit and mentor three to five graduate students and one to two recent post-graduates (from masters or doctoral programs) to conduct research on issues such as illicit drug supply, drug use, and associated consequences. The goal is to help public health and public safety officials better anticipate drug outbreaks and improve response strategies.
Participants will engage in activities such as:
- Clinical, public health, or public safety data analysis
- Systematic literature reviews, meta-analyses, or qualitative research
- Program or policy evaluation to inform ONDCP decision-making
Each project will be supervised by an ONDCP preceptor and, for students, an academic advisor to ensure educational alignment and research relevance. The institution will be responsible for recruitment, management, and oversight of the research experiences and fellowships, including key milestones and deliverables.
