    Description

This funding opportunity, administered by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service under the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative (GLRI), supports interjurisdictional projects that address aquatic invasive species (AIS) management across state and tribal boundaries within the Great Lakes Basin. The program aims to fund action-oriented projects focusing on pathway intervention, detection activities, and active prevention of AIS. Projects must align with regional priorities established by the Great Lakes Panel on Aquatic Nuisance Species and demonstrate significant collaborative support among Great Lakes states and tribes.

Two categories of projects are eligible:

    • Sustaining Projects: Continuation of previously funded interjurisdictional work deemed a regional priority.
    • New Projects: Previously unfunded initiatives with the potential to improve regional AIS management and prevention.

Proposed work must occur within or near the Great Lakes Basin and contribute substantially to AIS prevention or control in the region.
