Key Information: Applications are not currently being accepted; check program page for updates.
This award supports the creation and expansion of a "genomic type collection"—the first of its kind—of temperate woody plants at the Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University. The initiative is designed to facilitate research in comparative genomics, developmental biology, physiology, phylogenetics, and plant environmental responses by providing access to sequenced living specimens. Competitive awards are offered for de novo sequencing of important taxa within the Arboretum’s living collections, which comprise approximately 15,000 plants across 2,100 species. The program prioritizes taxa from well-represented floras, including those of North America, China, Japan, and Korea.
