The Association for Recorded Sound Collections (ARSC) Research Grants Program supports scholarship and publication by individuals working in sound recording research or audio preservation. Eligible subjects include discography, bibliography, historical studies of the sound recording industry and its products, and other topics that increase public understanding and appreciation of the lasting importance of recorded sound.
Managed by ARSC’s Research Grants Committee, the program emphasizes research using sound recordings as research materials or examining the sound recording industry. Grants help underwrite clerical, travel, and editorial expenses associated with this work. ARSC welcomes members and non-members and encourages applications for research undertaken as part of master’s or doctoral programs.
