    Description

The Arthritis Research Program (ATRP), funded by the Defense Health Agency and managed by the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP), supports innovative, high-impact research with clinical relevance to optimize the health and well-being of individuals affected by arthritis. The program focuses on prevention, early diagnosis, treatment, and mitigation of arthritis progression and burden. Research is encouraged on predictive factors for disease onset, development of prevention technologies or solutions, and evaluation of interventions addressing the multifactorial impacts of arthritis, including pain, function, psychosocial factors, comorbidities, and pathological burden. The ATRP aims to generate clinically useful evidence and accelerate translation of findings into practical solutions for arthritis care.
