This opportunity supports the secure deployment of American artificial intelligence (AI) technology in critical infrastructure and strategic economic sectors within South Asia. The program aims to counter foreign (notably Chinese) technological influence by facilitating AI adoption, strengthening data governance and cybersecurity, and promoting U.S. AI standards. Activities will include technical deployment, workforce development, policy support, and mentoring for partner governments and institutions. The initiative targets a minimum of three countries among Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka, with specific sectors and organizations to be refined in consultation with U.S. and host country governments. Substantial federal involvement is expected throughout the award.
