The Arts and Culture Program by the Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation (AAACF) is designed to strengthen arts and culture nonprofits in Washtenaw County, Michigan, with a strong emphasis on advancing racial equity. The program invests in community-based projects that serve and collaborate with Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities, support organizations with BIPOC leadership, promote equity in arts education, foster entrepreneurship in the arts for economic development, empower organizations’ digital capacity to reach BIPOC audiences, and provide vocational training for marginalized communities in the arts. The ultimate goal is to ensure universal access to arts and culture and to activate the artistic and cultural identity of all residents.
