The NEA Arts and Artifacts International Indemnity Program helps U.S. nonprofit museums and organizations minimize the cost of insuring international exhibitions by providing federal indemnity coverage for eligible art and artifact loans. Administered by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) on behalf of the Federal Council on the Arts and the Humanities (FCAH), the program covers loss or damage to works of art or artifacts lent to museum exhibitions, supporting cultural exchange and public access to significant collections. The program applies to temporary exhibitions that involve bringing works from abroad to the U.S. or sending U.S. works overseas, and may also cover certain U.S.-owned objects on domestic display when part of an international exhibition.
