Description
The American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB) Science Fair Award recognizes outstanding achievement in biochemistry and molecular biology research by middle or high school science students. Recognition is based on a student’s entry at a local, regional or state science fair, with a monetary award and certificate presented to the winning student or students.
Individual ASBMB members apply for the award and coordinate its presentation with the science fair. The program connects society members with student research showcased at these events. Winners’ names and project descriptions are sent to ASBMB for publication on its website, bringing attention to the research being recognized.
