Description
The ASBMB Undergraduate Research Award supports summer research projects by undergraduate members of the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology’s Student Chapters. Students conduct their proposed projects in the laboratory of an ASBMB member, with funding received and administered by their research adviser through an institutional account.
The program seeks to distribute support across as many institutions as possible. Past recipients’ experiences featured in ASBMB Today include research on key residues in Dib1, an essential splicing protein, and work continued after a poster presentation at Experimental Biology 2021. Recipients document their research experience and use of award funds at the end of the research period.
