Description
The American-Scandinavian Foundation (ASF) Translation Awards recognize exceptional English translations of poetry, fiction, drama, or literary prose originally written by 20th- or 21st-century Nordic authors. Five annual prizes are offered, each celebrating excellence in translation from Nordic languages, with specific awards for established and emerging translators, as well as for translations from Norwegian, Danish, Faroese, or Icelandic. Winners receive a monetary prize, publication of an excerpt in the Scandinavian Review, and a commemorative bronze medallion.
