The ASLA-Fulbright Research Grants for Junior Scholars program provides early-career Finnish researchers the opportunity to conduct research at U.S. universities or research institutions for periods of 3 to 12 months. In addition to advancing their research, grantees serve as cultural ambassadors, sharing Finnish culture and fostering academic and professional connections between Finland and the United States. The program supports both research-only visits and research combined with teaching, with no set limit on teaching hours. Grants are co-funded by the Fulbright Finland Foundation and the applicant’s home university, and recipients benefit from personal advising, orientation, visa support, and access to a global alumni network. The program also offers additional support for grantees with disabilities to ensure reasonable accommodations during their research stay.
