Description
UN Women, through its "Empowering Communities Through Gender-Responsive Local Governance" project, is seeking a partner organization to assess, refurbish, and operationalize survivor-centered safe homes in the high-risk districts of Bonthe, Moyamba, and Kambia in Sierra Leone. The initiative aims to strengthen community-based response systems to gender-based violence (GBV) by upgrading facilities, installing essential infrastructure, establishing management and governance structures, and linking safe homes to district-level referral mechanisms. The selected organization will also provide training for safe home staff and document best practices to inform future scale-up efforts. Local civil society organizations are integral to mobilizing communities, advocating for accountability, and supporting gender-responsive governance and protection.
