Summary: Supports multi-center, multidisciplinary, translational research in asthma and allergic diseases, including basic, clinical, and mechanistic studies.
The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), part of the NIH, anticipates continued support for the Asthma and Allergic Diseases Cooperative Research Centers (AADCRC). This program is the cornerstone of NIAID’s clinical and basic research efforts in asthma, upper airway allergic/inflammatory diseases, food and drug allergies, atopic dermatitis, and related allergic diseases. The AADCRC aims to investigate mechanisms underlying onset, progression, treatment, and treatment response for these conditions.
The program is designed to foster multi-center, multidisciplinary, and translational research. Research directions may include:
The AADCRC is the only NIAID program specifically promoting this breadth of collaborative research in asthma and allergic diseases.
