--- ## Description The Coupling, Energetics, and Dynamics of Atmospheric Regions (CEDAR) program funds research to advance understanding of atmospheric processes from the middle atmosphere upward, including the thermosphere, ionosphere, and exosphere. The program emphasizes the study of how energy and matter are transferred between atmospheric regions, focusing on coupling mechanisms, energetics, chemistry, and dynamics at both regional and global scales. Research supported by this program combines observations (ground-based and space-based), theory, and modeling. The program encourages interdisciplinary and systems approaches, including the use of instrument networks, development of new instrumentation, and innovative modeling strategies.
