The Barbara A. Horwitz and John M. Horowitz Undergraduate Research Awards are presented annually by the American Physiological Society to honor undergraduate students who demonstrate outstanding research in physiology. These awards are specifically for students presenting their research at the American Physiology Summit and are designed to encourage early engagement and professional development in physiological research. There are two types of awards: the Outstanding Undergraduate Abstract Awards (recognizing exceptional abstracts) and the Excellence in Undergraduate Research Awards (for the highest-ranking presentations). Recipients receive a monetary honorarium, an APS membership, and an award certificate.
