The BBRF Distinguished Investigator Grants are designed to fund established, senior scientists pursuing innovative research in neurobiology and behavior, with the goal of advancing understanding or treatment of severe mental illnesses. The program seeks to catalyze high-risk, high-reward projects that could lead to transformative breakthroughs and attract further external funding. Eligible research areas include, but are not limited to, addiction, ADHD, anxiety, autism, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, depression, eating disorders, OCD, PTSD, schizophrenia, and suicide prevention. Trans-diagnostic designs and interdisciplinary approaches are encouraged. The grant is highly competitive and is intended to support creative, investigator-initiated projects that align with the Foundation's mission.
