Description
The Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) Formula Grants Program, administered by the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), supports a nationwide initiative to reduce violent crime, with a particular focus on gun violence. This program fosters collaboration among federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial law enforcement officials, prosecutors, community-based partners, and other stakeholders. The goal is to identify the most pressing violent crime issues within communities and develop comprehensive, data-driven, and community-based strategies to address them.
PSN is coordinated by the U.S. Attorneys’ Offices across 94 federal judicial districts in the 50 states and U.S. territories. The program emphasizes partnerships and strategic planning to create safer neighborhoods by reducing violent crime through evidence-based approaches.
