This opportunity funds a single cooperative agreement to deliver training and technical assistance (TTA) under the National Criminal History Improvement Program (NCHIP), the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) Act Record Improvement Program (NARIP), and portions of the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act. The awardee will provide direct support to states, territories, and tribal jurisdictions to ensure records systems are developed and managed according to FBI standards, utilize appropriate technologies, and adhere to best practices regarding privacy and confidentiality. Activities include technical assistance visits, virtual workshops, in-house phone/web support, and the collection and evaluation of performance measures to improve the quality and completeness of criminal history records for both criminal justice and noncriminal justice purposes.
