Description
The Ohio Office of Criminal Justice Services (OCJS) administers the Body Worn Camera Program to help law enforcement agencies across Ohio establish camera programs or expand and update existing ones. The program prioritizes cameras for officers who regularly interact with the public and do not yet have functional cameras. Its goals include improving evidence collection and officer training, strengthening performance and accountability, increasing transparency, and documenting encounters between police and the public.
Funding can support body cameras and related hardware and software, video storage, redaction and editing tools, IT support, maintenance, and assistance with installation, training, and storage setup.
