Description
The Foundation Fighting Blindness' Brint Family Translational Research Program supports preclinical translational research projects that accelerate the development of therapies for inherited retinal degenerations (IRDs) and dry age-related macular degeneration (dAMD). The program provides both funding and expert mentorship in drug development, regulatory strategy, intellectual property, and commercialization, aiming to move promising therapies from the laboratory toward clinical development. Supported projects should focus on advancing a therapeutic candidate (e.g., gene, RNA, small molecule, biologic, cell-based, optogenetic, or device-based therapy) from lead optimization through IND/IDE-enabling studies, with a clear path toward clinical testing.
