The Brownfield Opportunity Area (BOA) Program provides funding and technical assistance to help New York State communities develop and implement area-wide plans for the revitalization of brownfields and other vacant or underutilized sites. Through a collaborative, community-driven planning process, the program empowers municipalities and local organizations to create a shared vision, set redevelopment goals, and outline strategies to transform distressed areas into assets that drive investment, improve quality of life, and support economic development. Designated BOAs can access additional state resources and tax incentives to advance redevelopment projects.
