Description
The Colorado Health Foundation’s Building and Bridging Connections funding supports community-building efforts that strengthen social capital, elevate existing assets and address health challenges. It emphasizes connections among people of color and groups that may not have historically worked together, while amplifying the voices of people who have had less power or privilege. Cultural heritage, arts, stories and traditions at risk of being lost are central priorities.
The program supports work grounded in existing community relationships, trust and reciprocity. Activities may bring neighbors and leaders together to listen and learn, share personal and family stories, overcome historical barriers, establish shared goals or coordinate action on community priorities. Community-shaped projects should foster belonging and build skills for collaboration, engagement with decision-makers and future collective action.
