--- ## Description This program seeks to develop partnerships that enhance access to and use of cultural and paleontological resources managed by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). Projects should advance the educational, scientific, cultural, and recreational values of these resources in alignment with Department of the Interior and BLM program goals. Eligible activities include: - Conducting inventories, excavations, records research, and collections-based research to improve understanding of America's natural and cultural history - Monitoring and stabilizing at-risk heritage resources - Training future cultural resource management practitioners and paleontologists via research projects, field schools, and internships - Managing and organizing cultural heritage data and records, including digitizing and maintaining geospatial data - Preserving existing collections at recognized curation facilities - Broadening public access to museum collections - Engaging Native American communities and fostering partnerships with tribal governments - Promoting public engagement and learning through education, outreach, and interpretive programs - Developing and maintaining historic sites for interpretive and educational purposes - Supporting BLM’s Tribal consultation efforts --- ## Due Dates - Applications are due by **July 11, 2025, 5:00 p.m. ET**. - Applications must be submitted electronically via [Grants.gov](https://www.grants.gov/search-results-detail/359679). - No extensions will be granted except in extenuating circumstances. --- ## Funding Amount - **Award range:** $1,000 to $30,000 per project - **Estimated total program funding:** $410,000 - **Funding instrument:** Cooperative Agreement - **Cost sharing/matching:** Not required --- ## Eligibility Eligible applicants include: - State governments - County governments - City or township governments - Public and State controlled institutions of higher education - Private institutions of higher education - Federally recognized Native American tribal governments - Native American tribal organizations (other than federally recognized tribal governments) - Nonprofits with or without 501(c)(3) status (other than institutions of higher education) **Not eligible:** - Individuals - For-profit organizations **Additional eligibility notes:** - Projects hiring interns or crews under the Public Lands Corps Act are not supported under this NOFO. - Youth Conservation Corps may only apply under a separate NOFO (15.243). - If applying as a Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit (CESU) partner, indirect costs are capped at 17.5% if consistent with a formal CESU agreement. --- ## Application Process - Applications must be submitted electronically through [Grants.gov](https://www.grants.gov/search-results-detail/359679) by the deadline. - Proposals will be reviewed, rated, and ranked by a merit review committee. - Ensure your application addresses one or more of the program’s objectives. - If applying as a CESU partner, specify how your proposal furthers CESU program purposes and identify the CESU Network. --- ## Additional Information - Projects should align with BLM’s priorities for cultural heritage and paleontology. - Indirect cost rates for CESU partners are limited to 17.5% if consistent with a Master CESU agreement. - The program does not support hiring interns under the Public Lands Corps Act through this NOFO. - Archive date for this opportunity is August 15, 2025. --- ## External Links - [Full opportunity details and application on Grants.gov](https://www.grants.gov/search-results-detail/359679) - [Bureau of Land Management homepage](https://www.blm.gov) --- ## Contact Information | Name | Email | |----------------|--------------------------| | Patricia Glass | [pglass@blm.gov](mailto:pglass@blm.gov) |
