Description
The Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), part of the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Justice Programs, offers this competitive cooperative agreement to strengthen Tribal justice systems. The program provides specialized technical experts to help federally recognized Indian Tribes develop, implement, and enhance their justice systems.
The work addresses violent crime, substance-use-related crime—including crime involving opioids, stimulants, and other illicit substances—and overdose fatalities. It also helps Tribes build sustainable legal and corrections infrastructure and improve collaboration with federal, state, and local partners.
