The Burton MacDonald and Rosemarie Sampson Fellowship is designed to assist Canadian undergraduate and graduate students, or landed immigrants, in conducting research or participating in archaeological fieldwork in Jordan. The fellowship supports studies in Ancient Near Eastern languages and history, archaeology, biblical studies, or comparative religion. Established in 2004, the fellowship honors the founders’ commitment to advancing scholarly engagement and fieldwork in Jordan and is administered by the American Center of Research (ACOR) in Amman.
