This award provides U.S. scholars with the opportunity to engage in teaching, research, professional projects, or a combination thereof in the fields of business, accounting, finance, and economics at higher education institutions in Bahrain. Scholars may design their own host institution and project, with the flexibility to focus on undergraduate or graduate teaching, independent or institution-led research, or professional projects such as consultations, public lectures, and practical engagements with local organizations.
The program aims to foster international understanding and collaboration by encouraging scholars to mentor students, support curriculum development, and actively engage with the local academic and professional community. Preferred areas of focus include entrepreneurship, public-private partnerships, investment, NGOs, and trade relationships. All activities are conducted in English, and host institutions are flexible in structuring activities to fit the scholar’s expertise and the institution’s needs.
