The Mitacs Business Strategy Internship (BSI) program fosters partnerships between post-secondary students, postdoctoral fellows, academic supervisors, and Canadian organizations—including for-profits, not-for-profits, municipalities, hospitals, and Indigenous governments. The program funds 4–6 month innovation projects designed to address specific business or organizational challenges, improve processes or products, and drive knowledge transfer. Interns gain hands-on professional experience, while organizations benefit from strategic insights and access to academic expertise. Projects are co-designed by the intern, academic supervisor, and partner organization, with a focus on innovation, collaboration, and professional development.
