The California Forest Improvement Program (CFIP), administered by CAL FIRE, provides cost-share funding to encourage private and public investment in the management and enhancement of California’s forest lands and resources. The program supports sustainable timber supply, related employment, and the protection and improvement of forest ecosystems, including wildlife habitat and water quality. Eligible activities include the preparation of Forest Management Plans, reforestation, stand improvement, habitat conservation, and other forest resource enhancements, all under the supervision of a Registered Professional Forester (RPF).
