The 2026 California Men’s Service Challenge, administered by California Volunteers, awards state local assistance funds to an organization operating a multi-region service program for young men and boys. The program aims to increase high school and college graduation rates, build meaningful social connection and personal development, and promote or enhance participation in service opportunities.
Funding priorities focus on organizational capacity building that strengthens the long-term sustainability of programs addressing California’s growing crisis of connection and opportunity for young men and boys. Supported investments include stronger administrative functions, partnership development, evaluation systems, process improvements, staff or service member talent pathways, recruitment, training, consultant services, and technology.
