Caltech’s Division of the Humanities and Social Sciences invites applications for a two-year Postdoctoral Scholar Teaching Fellowship beginning in fall term 2027. The opportunity is for candidates working in history and philosophy of science, with a focus on the nineteenth and/or twentieth century. It combines scholarly work in these fields with a defined undergraduate teaching role across both years.
The fellow will teach two approximately ten-week undergraduate courses in the first year and three undergraduate courses in the second year. The application also asks candidates to articulate their approach to classroom instruction, student mentorship, and fostering an inclusive environment for students who bring different perspectives and experiences to Caltech.
