Key Information: Forecasted opportunity; details and dates may change—monitor program page for updates.
The National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK), in collaboration with the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, plans to continue supporting the CARE-T1D consortium for research into cardiovascular disease in type 1 diabetes (T1D). This funding opportunity will solicit applications for discovery and mechanistic studies—particularly those using multi-omics and molecular approaches—to better understand the pathogenesis of cardiac disease in T1D. Collaborative projects that combine expertise in type 2 diabetes, atherosclerosis, inflammation, and advanced omics techniques are encouraged. The program will use the U01 cooperative agreement mechanism and is open to investigators with relevant expertise in T1D cardiovascular disease.
