The Case Study Investigation (CSI) Program is a research and training initiative by the Landscape Architecture Foundation (LAF) that brings together academic researchers, students, and design practitioners to document and assess the environmental, social, and economic benefits of high-performing built landscape projects. Through this annual, competitive program, selected faculty-student teams collaborate with design firms to develop methods for measuring landscape performance, conduct field research, and produce peer-reviewed Case Study Briefs published in LAF’s Landscape Performance Series. The program aims to bridge research and practice, advance replicable evaluation methods, and build capacity for performance-based design in landscape architecture.
