The Catalyst for Early-Career Research Acceleration Grants are designed to provide short-term support to early-career faculty at the University of Arizona, helping them jump-start innovative research projects and foster new collaborations. These grants prioritize collaborative and interdisciplinary proposals and can fund a wide range of research activities, including proposal development, graduate student or postdoctoral support, data collection, community engagement, and travel. Projects that align with key university and state priorities—such as space science, fusion energy, AI-driven health innovation, sustainable mining, and arid lands agriculture and water—are especially encouraged. The program is supported by TRIF Initiatives and is open to both STEMM and non-STEMM fields.
