The Center for Educators & Schools Summer Residency is a competitive, week-long program hosted by the New York Public Library (NYPL) designed to support high school humanities educators. Selected residents gain behind-the-scenes access to NYPL’s vast collections, participate in curated workshops and talks with subject matter experts, and engage with peers in professional development sessions. The residency aims to equip educators with new resources and creative strategies to foster engagement, intellectual curiosity, and creativity in their classrooms. Each year, the residency focuses on a central theme relevant to history, civics, and the humanities.
