The RAND Center on AI, Security, and Technology (CAST) Fellowship cultivates the next generation of policy analysts and implementers working at the intersection of technology and security. Fellows conduct independent research and may contribute to RAND client-sponsored projects in areas such as AI security, technology policy and governance, and biosecurity. The program emphasizes both rigorous policy analysis and practical implementation, offering mentorship from RAND policy experts and opportunities to engage with a range of stakeholders. The fellowship is open to candidates at all career stages, from recent undergraduates to mid-career professionals, and can be undertaken full- or part-time, either remotely or at RAND's preferred U.S. locations (Washington DC, San Francisco, or Pittsburgh) or in the United Kingdom.
