Description
This opportunity supports the establishment and operation of a Center for Independent Living (CIL) in Guam. The program is intended to expand and improve independent living services for people with significant disabilities, enabling them to live more independently and participate fully in their communities. The funded center must provide core services, including information and referral, independent living skills training, peer counseling, advocacy, and transition services for those moving from institutions to the community, preventing institutionalization, and supporting youth transitions to postsecondary life.
The grant is authorized under the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, and aligns with the Administration for Community Living’s mission to maximize independence, well-being, and health for people with disabilities.
