--- ## Description This opportunity supports the creation of a single center for independent living (CIL) in Guam. The center will provide, expand, and enhance independent living services for individuals with disabilities, supporting the broader network of CILs. Required core services include information and referral, independent living skills training, peer counseling, individual and systems advocacy, and services to facilitate transitions from institutions to community living (including youth transition support and diversion from institutionalization). --- ## Due Dates - Estimated application due date: June 29, 2026 *All dates are projected based on the annual cycle; check the program page for updates.* --- ## Funding Amount - Estimated total funding available: $159,762 - Number of awards: 1 - Award ceiling/floor: $159,762 (fixed amount) - Project duration: 24 months (two 12-month budget periods) - No cost sharing or matching required --- ## Eligibility Eligible applicants must: - Be a consumer-controlled, community-based, cross-disability, non-residential, private nonprofit agency. - Have the authority to carry out the purpose of Part C of Title VII of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and perform functions under section 725(b) and (c), and 45 CFR part 1329. - Be able to plan, conduct, administer, and evaluate a center consistent with the required standards and assurances. - Not currently receive Part C funds, or propose the expansion of an existing center by establishing a separate, complete center in a different geographic location. - Propose to serve geographic areas in Guam identified as unserved or underserved. - Submit documentation that the new center aligns with the statewide network design in the State Plan for Independent Living. Other eligible entities include: - Domestic private nonprofit entities (including Indian tribal organizations, faith-based organizations, and community-based organizations) that meet the above requirements.
