The CHAI Pilot Awards, offered by the Robert N. Butler Columbia Aging Center under the Columbia Healthy Aging Initiative (CHAI), aim to foster innovation in the measurement science of healthy aging. This Spring 2026 round invites proposals focused on the development and/or validation of new tools, methods, or indices—such as survey scales, psychometric assessments, performance tests, biochemical assays, composite indices, or novel biospecimen/data collection methods—that can inform future cohort studies and advance the understanding of healthy aging. Projects from any scientific field are welcome, provided the focus is on innovative approaches to measuring healthy aging within the Columbia University community.
