Summary: Supports research to improve care and quality of life for older Canadians with hemophilia, focusing on age-related health challenges and evidence-based management.
The CHS – Bayer – ADVANCE Canada Research Program funds research projects aimed at improving the health and quality of life of older Canadians living with hemophilia. As life expectancy for people with hemophilia increases, they face unique age-related comorbidities such as cardiovascular disease, cancer, liver disease, bone and joint disorders, and psychosocial challenges. This program, in partnership with ADVANCE Canada, supports rigorous, patient-centered research designed to address gaps in knowledge around these issues, adapt management strategies, and provide evidence-based information to healthcare practitioners, the public, and policymakers. Multidisciplinary and multi-centre collaborations are encouraged, and both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies are eligible.
