Description
The Center for Information Technology Research in the Interest of Society and the Banatao Institute (CITRIS) and UC Berkeley’s College of Computing, Data Science, and Society run this program in partnership with the Academic Innovation Catalyst (AIC). It supports the translation of UC research into products, platforms or services with potential for scalable, real-world adoption and public benefit.
The program prioritizes advanced technologies grounded in deep academic research, including AI and other deep tech fields. Work in materials science, chemistry, physics, data science, environmental and climate science, and energy is welcome. Digital health, medical technology and open-source projects with a path to scale may also be considered. Awardees become AIC Fellows and receive support intended to advance their innovations toward commercialization.
