The Clark Postdoctoral and Graduate Fellowships provide residential research support for scholars utilizing the extensive primary source collections of the William Andrews Clark Memorial Library at UCLA. The library’s holdings span the 16th to 20th centuries and include materials relevant to a wide range of disciplines such as queer, disability, and ecocritical studies; musicology; astronomy; mathematics; translation; architecture; foodways; and more. Fellowships are designed to foster innovative scholarship and encourage deep engagement with the library’s resources. Opportunities also exist to participate in related programs, such as the American Trust for the British Library (ATBL) Research Fellowship, enabling comparative research between the Clark Library and the British Library.
Fellowships are offered in several categories, including short-term, bibliographical, dissertation, graduate research, and specialized library-focused roles (Instruction & Engagement, Technical Services). All fellowships require onsite residency at the Clark Library in Los Angeles.
