The Clark Predoctoral Fellowship offers doctoral candidates the opportunity to conduct advanced research using the extensive collections of the William Andrews Clark Memorial Library at UCLA. The fellowship is designed for dissertation-stage graduate students whose research engages with seventeenth- and eighteenth-century studies or other areas well-represented in the Clark Library’s holdings. The program emphasizes in-person, residential research, providing recipients with access to rare materials and fostering scholarly engagement within a vibrant academic community.
Fellowships are supported by the Ahmanson Foundation and the Sidney Stern Memorial Trust. In addition, recipients may be eligible to apply for an add-on ATBL Research Fellowship to support research at the British Library in London, enabling transatlantic scholarly dialogue.
