The Claytor-Gilmer Fellowship, awarded by the American Mathematical Society (AMS), is designed to further excellence in mathematics research and to promote the participation and success of Black mathematicians in the research community. Named in honor of William S. Claytor and Gloria Ford Gilmer, the fellowship provides substantial support to a midcareer mathematician whose achievements demonstrate both significant research potential and a commitment to fostering a more inclusive mathematical community. The fellowship is flexible in its use, supporting release time, research travel, participation in programs, and other activities that enhance research productivity.
