The Claytor-Gilmer Fellowship, established by the American Mathematical Society (AMS), is designed to further excellence in mathematics research while advancing the participation and success of Black mathematicians. Named in honor of Dr. William S. Claytor and Dr. Gloria Ford Gilmer, the fellowship recognizes midcareer scholars whose research accomplishments and professional activities show significant promise for further contributions to mathematics and for fostering a more inclusive mathematical community. The fellowship may be used flexibly to support research in ways most effective for the recipient, such as release time, travel, participation in research programs, or childcare.
