Description
The Stand-Alone Clean Energy Initiative (SCEI) Program, administered by New York State Homes and Community Renewal (HCR), provides capital funding to regulated affordable multifamily housing properties in New York State to facilitate the replacement of inefficient space and water heating systems with high-efficiency, all-electric heat pump systems. The program also supports electrification-enabling upgrades (e.g., electrical, ventilation, envelope) and on-site solar photovoltaic installations, helping properties reduce greenhouse gas emissions in alignment with New York’s Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act.
SCEI is designed to support the transition of affordable housing to cleaner, more efficient energy systems, improve resident comfort, and contribute to the state’s decarbonization and housing goals.
